We announce recall of model #87645 and model #87644 iRover Hoverboard/self-balancing scooter

Hazard: The lithium-ion battery packs in the self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire and/or exploding.

 

Recalled Product: IROVER Hoverboard/Self-balancing Scooter sold from December 2015 - April 2017

 

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the hoverboard/self-balancing scooter immediately and contact iRover, LLC. for a free UL2272 compliant replacement hoverboard.

 

 

This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

 

IROVER Recall FAQ

Q.: Why is the firm conducting this recall?

A.: We are conducting this recall to keep our customer's safe and prevent injuries by removing the potentially problem product.

 

Q.: How can I tell if my iRover Hoverboard is affected by the recall?

A.: Look on the label on the bottom of the product for model numbers: 87645 and 87644.

 

Q.: How can I take advantage of the recall?

A.: Call our toll free number and we will replace the product after our verification and replacement process. 

1.: Call our toll free number to provide product and contact information;

2.: Submit a replacement form with photos of the product so we can verify that it is our product;

3.: Upon verification of the product, we send you a return label to ship the product to us;

4.: After receiving the product and verifying again that this is our product, we wil ship a replacement product to you.

 

Q.:What is the problem with my iRover Hoverboard?

A.: The lithium-ion battery packs in the self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire and/or exploding.

 

Q.: My iROVER appears to be operating okay. Can I continue to use it?

A.: No. Even though your product appears to be safe, we are asking all customers to immediately stop using the product and participate in the recall by returning the product to us for a replacment.

 

Q.: I no longer have the receipt for the product. Can I still replace it?

A.: Yes.  You can still replace the product without a receipt.

 

Q.: How long will it take for me to get a replacement?

A.: The replacement may take from six to eight weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience and assure you we are working as quickly as possible to replace your product.

 

Q.: Can I repair the product myself?

A.: No. We urge you not to attempt to repair the product yourself. Please return it to us immediately for a replacement.
